LOAF AT FIRST SIGHT: SOURDOUGH BREAD MAKING
There are plenty of reasons Bent Beam Barn is the best VRBO ever—but let’s talk about the one that smells like heaven and tastes even better. Our instructor-led Bread Baking Class is a hands-on, heartwarming experience hosted right inside our massive barn kitchen, where rustic charm meets culinary magic.

Led by the fabulous Ashley (yes, she’s as delightful as her loaves), you’ll learn the art of crafting sourdough from scratch—mixing, kneading, fermenting, and baking your way to golden perfection. You’ll sample fresh bread hot from the oven, and leave with your own organic sourdough starter, enough flour to feed it, and a curated list of recommended supplies.

By the end, you won’t just be full, you’ll be fermentationally fearless, ready to bake beautiful loaves in your own kitchen. It’s cozy, creative, and just one more reason Bent Beam Barn rises above the rest.

​Who the cluck is Gladys? Only the reigning queen of the coop, darling. She struts, she chirps, and she personally greets (owner) Matthew every morning like the diva she is.
​
Bucket list item: Hug a chicken. Never done it? Bent Beam Barn is here to fix that—with feathers, flair, and a photo op you’ll be showing off for years. Gladys (our resident diva hen) is ready for her close-up, and trust us, she does not appreciate tardiness. Her girlfriends are fluffed, fabulous, and equally photogenic.
Bonus: They lay eggs like it’s their job. Because it is. And yes, they’re yours to enjoy.
